I have been a bit stunned by the feed back figures for the facebook page. There is a new facility that shows the total visits to any post made where ever it has been post or copied somewhere and clicked on. Since the end of June until the start of January the sum total for all visits to every post combined runs to thirty three thousand views!!!

I hope you enjoy reading my blog. These are just every day tales of birding and related Orkney stuff. With a bit of luck I hope to give a bit of a glimpse into life in the northern isles, I am not what you might call an expert birder. I am quite keen though and am lucky enough to live in a great place that is stuffed full of outstanding history and brimming with natural history. With it’s abundant and diverse flora and fauna on land and sea and great birds that go on year round these islands are a treasure trove of delights. So if you can manage to drag your self’s past my poor grammar hopefully I might give you a small taste of the feast that is living in Orkney..
