Yesterday there were three small flocks of Golden Plover heading north between Dounby and the Harray hall. This morning there is a huge flock below the Stonyhill rd and the Harray loch.
We had a Wren gathering food in the Regosa yesterday.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog. These are just every day tales of birding and related Orkney stuff. With a bit of luck I hope to give a bit of a glimpse into life in the northern isles, I am not what you might call an expert birder. I am quite keen though and am lucky enough to live in a great place that is stuffed full of outstanding history and brimming with natural history. With it’s abundant and diverse flora and fauna on land and sea and great birds that go on year round these islands are a treasure trove of delights. So if you can manage to drag your self’s past my poor grammar hopefully I might give you a small taste of the feast that is living in Orkney..
